Providing Emergency Food to Neighbors in Need

The primary mission of the SSIP Food Closet is to maintain and operate an emergency food distribution program to help alleviate food insecurity for Sacramento area residents. The operation of this vital resource depends on the help of donors, volunteers, and community partners.

We are projected to surpass the 145,000 individuals we served in 2023 due to the increase in lines of clients during distribution operations. More neighbors are turning to emergency food distribution as a basic need to make ends meet. It is thanks to generosity of our caring community we have been able to meet the increased client needs.

At SSIP Food Closet:

* There are no zip code restrictions

* No proof of income is needed

* We are open five days a week.

* We operate as a community collaboration with church partners, local grocery providers, over 100 volunteers from the community.

Financial donations enable us to keep our doors open, keeping the vans running, the freezers plugged in and providing salaries for our four staff members. SSIP Food Closet is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, all donations are tax deductible. Your financial support makes our work possible. Thank you!
